Thank you for purchasing the “Noise Reaper”, a professional noisegate designed for line level instruments, guitar and bass that has evolved from our noise gate technology within our “Warp Drive and Fig Fumb” high gain distortion and fuzz pedals. Tried and tested for many years in these applications with added improvements controlling unwieldy feedback and signal sources, be sure that this is one of the best noise gates on the market.

The pedal consists of a “Threshold” control knob which enables you to control how much the gate opens allowing for the dynamics you want to shine through. The pedal works by taking the input sensitivity of the guitar input and the noisy signal source and comparing the two which enables you to gate unwanted noise but still be able to sustain notes if playing lead guitar sections. The LED indicates if the noise gate is on or off and it has a high quality soft touch relay based true bypass footswitch / circuit.
The pedal uses a high quality VCA which is the THAT Corporation 2181C for this application giving transparent ultra low distortion and high dynamic range to keep your tone sounding absolutely fantastic.

The “Noise Reaper” can operate in “Pedal” mode and “Series FX Loop” mode. You can use two Noise Reapers for absolute silence should you need too .

Series FX Loop

Pre-Amp Gating: This configuration is to be used if you want to use the gate in a “SERIES FX LOOP ONLY” to quieten a high gain or noisey amplifier. You can place your delay or modulation effects between the noise gate’s return output and the amplifier’s series fx return input. Drive pedals can also be placed between the noise gate’s output and the amplifier input but this may result in high frequency oscillation if the amplifier’s gain, channel volume, master volume and any drives pedals are on full volume and gain as it may exceed the dynamanic range of using just one noisegate in the FX Loop of the amplifier.

Pedal Mode

You can do this one of many ways:
1) Place only the noisy pedals in the effects loop of the noise gate and only these pedals will be gated.
2) Place all noisy pedals (gain pedals for example) in the noise gates fx loop and place modulation between the noisegates output and the input of the amplifier. (this will allow for delay trails)
3) By using 2 noisegates (1 x Amp Series FX Loop and 1 x Pedal Loop) the pedal loop noise gate will seperately gate the pedal loop before it hits the front of the amplifier pre-amp. Without the secondary noisegate you may get high frequency oscillation as the total gain into the amps input (Amp pre-amp) may exceed the dynamic range of the noisegate that has been placed in the series fx loop.
